*12 Hours of Successful Maha Harinama in Morrisville!*

It was a long time desire of enthusiastic Krishna devotees, Sriman Gajendra

and Srimati Seema Kabra to organize an event of continuous Maha-Mantra

chanting for the pleasure of Srila Prabhupada and for the spiritual benefit of

all their friends. It finally took place last Saturday (Feb 17 th, 2006).

This event was coordinated by New Goloka Temple Outreach Officer, Mother

Golokananda Priya Dasi, who scheduled the session to begin from 7 o'clock in

the morning and last for 12 hours thereafter.

 

Despite the chilly conditions, guests found themselves cozy yet in a very

serene spiritual atmosphere in the Kabra's temple like home in Morrisville,

NC. All the invited guests were overwhelmed by the wonderful personal

attention of the Kabra family. They personally received each guest and

offered them wonderful Krishna Prasadam (food lovingly prepared and offered

to Lord Krishna). Even Mr. Kabra's 3 children greeted and thanked every

guest with a fruit when they were leaving their house.

 

There were devotees from New Jersey's Towaco ISKCON temple,New Goloka temple

and congregation members from both the Morrisville and Charlotte communities. Many of

the guests were seen coming and going throughout the day while the rest of

the invited guests made their way in during the concluding hours of the

session. Senior devotees such as Dhrsta Prabhu, Dayavira Prabhu and Mother

Krsna Priya humbly graced the occasion and added much bliss to the chanting

session by their very enlivening renditions.

 

Mother Krsna Priya thanked the Kabra family for all their sincere effort in

promoting the Yuga dharma for this age. She was really pleased to see the

meticulous involvement of this family in spreading Srila Prabhupada's

mission by inviting so many guests to relish the Holy Name. It tallied to be

an attendance of over a 100 people by the end of the day. She strongly

recommended that such preaching activities should be regularly organized so

that we may be able to meet so many wonderful people who live around the New

Goloka community.

 

At the end of the day someone inquired when will the next 12 hours of

Maha Mantra chanting session take place. An enthusiastic Mr. Kabra replied,

"Let's start it now till 7 (the next day) in the morning".

 

Srila Prabhupada stresses that the best welfare work one could do is to preach Krishna consciousness.

"It is the duty of every living being to perform welfare activities for the

benefit of others with his life, wealth, intelligence and words." (Cc Adi.9.42)
